Dr. Shelby Denman

Dr. Shelby Denman was born and raised in Tampa, Florida with his twin brother, Chad. He graduated in 2001 from the University of Florida with a Food Science and Human Nutrition Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Nutritional Sciences and a minor in Zoology. He then earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree in 2006 from Boston University. Dr. Shelby Denman practiced in Tampa, Florida from 2006 to 2008 with Dental Health Group as a family and cosmetic dentist. There he completed many full mouth rehabilitations as well as cosmetic makeovers including thousands of crowns, bridgework, and veneers. In 2008, Dr. Shelby Denman moved to Austin, Texas to help his brother open a practice with the Smile Center Dental. They worked together until opening Family Tree Dental Group in 2011. While working in Texas he completed many pediatric cases, extractions, and conscious sedations. Dr. Shelby Denman currently holds certifications in Invisalign and Clear Correct for treatment with invisible or clear braces as well as many CE courses in pediatric care and conscious sedation. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Capital Area Dental Society, and other professional dental organizations. Dr. Shelby Denman enjoys working out and playing tennis in local leagues and at US Tennis Association tournaments.

Dr. Chad Denman

Dr. Chad Denman attended Florida State University for an undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology and then Marquette University for dental school. He moved to Austin in 2006 after falling in love with the city during a trip the previous year. His time as a dentist in Austin has allowed him to master multiple areas of dentistry including pediatrics, implant placements, esthetics, surgical procedures, extractions, root canals, crown and bridge placement, porcelain crowns and veneers, teeth whitening, conscious sedation, partials and dentures, and general patient care. Dr. Denman thoroughly enjoys interacting with his patients and developing strong caring relationships. He’s such a firm believer in his work here in Austin that he convinced his identical twin brother, Dr. Shelby Denman, to move to Austin to work with him. He is part of a study group of specialists in the area, and is involved in many organizations and maintains several certifications in dentistry.

L. Maximilian Buja

L. Maximilian Buja, MD joined The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston faculty in 1989, and is a former department chair and former dean of the UT Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) and a former executive vice president for Academic Affairs. Dr. Buja is currently both a Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Executive Director of The TMC Library. He is a Distinguished Teaching Professor in the UT System.

Dr. Buja earned his MD degree with honors from Tulane University School of Medicine. He received an MS degree in anatomy from Tulane’s graduate school. Dr. Buja served a medicine internship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and he was a staff associate in the pathology section of the National Heart and Lung Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. He was also a resident in pathology with the National Cancer Institute, and a senior investigator at the National Heart and Lung Institute. Dr. Buja joined The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School as an assistant professor in pathology, was appointed a professor of pathology and was selected to hold the school’s A. J. Gill Professorship of Pathology.

Dr. Buja is a member of numerous scientific societies. Internationally recognized for his research in cardiovascular pathology, he is author of more than 240 research articles, 150 book chapters and two books in his scientific field. He is co-author of Netter’s Illustrated Human Pathology.

Kunjan & Roopal Bhatt, MDs

Dr. Kunjan Bhatt specializes in Clinical Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography and Cardiac CT at Austin Heart in Austin, TX. After completing his undergraduate degree at Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, NY, he received his medical degree from SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn College of Medicine in Brooklyn, NY. Post-graduate training began with an Internal Medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY, followed by a Cardiology Fellowship at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, where he served as Chief of Cardiology with an emphasis in non-invasive imaging. He was selected for inclusion Super Doctors® Rising Stars 2014, Texas Monthly Magazine.

Dr. Roopal Bhatt is a board-certified Dermatologist, Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is a member of Austin Dermatologic Society, Travis County Medical Society and Texas Medical Association. From 2005 to 2007, she was in private practice in Manhattan and Long Island, NY, and also was a Clinical Assistant Professor for the North Shore University Hospital.

Dr. Roopal and Dr. Kunjan Bhatt are happily married with two young children.
